Holiday Village vs. Holiday Village East: Which Mount Laurel 55+ Community Is Right for You?
By Jerry Mac, Keller Williams Realty
Two Wonderful Communities, One Big Question
If you're thinking about a 55+ community in South Jersey, chances are someone has already told you about Holiday Village in Mount Laurel. And then, just when you think you've got it figured out, they mention Holiday Village East, too.
So which one is right for you? That's one of the questions I hear most, and it's a good one. The two communities sit near each other and share a name, but they each have their own personality, their own clubhouse, and their own price range.
I'm Jerry Mac with Keller Williams Realty. I've been helping people buy and sell homes in South Jersey for 23 years, and I've earned about 130 reviews from clients along the way. Folks tell me I'm easy to talk to, and I take that as the highest compliment. I'm a people person, I'm patient, and there's no such thing as a silly question with me.
In this guide, I'll walk you through both communities side by side, share what homes actually sold for this past year, and give you my honest take on who each one fits best.
What the Two Communities Have in Common
Let's start with the good news. No matter which one you choose, you get a lot to love:
- A true 55+ lifestyle. Both are age-restricted active adult communities, full of neighbors in a similar stage of life.
- Easy living. Most homes are designed for one-level living, and the homeowners association takes care of the common grounds and services like lawn care and snow removal, depending on your home.
- A busy clubhouse. Each community has its own clubhouse with activities, clubs, parties and trips.
- A pool and courts. Both have an outdoor pool, tennis courts and games like bocce and shuffleboard.
- A peaceful setting. Lakes, walking paths and green space make for lovely morning strolls.
- A great location. Both are in Mount Laurel, just minutes from I-295, Route 38 and the New Jersey Turnpike, with shopping, restaurants and doctors' offices close by.

What Those Numbers Really Mean
Holiday Village is a little more affordable. The median home sold for $380,000, about $45,000 less than in Holiday Village East. If you want to keep more of your nest egg in the bank, that matters.
Holiday Village East gives you more room. Homes there are about 200 square feet larger on average, and there are more 3-bedroom homes to choose from. Here's something interesting: because the homes are bigger, you actually pay a little less per square foot in Holiday Village East.
Holiday Village homes sell faster. Half the homes there sold in 9 days or less. That's quick! If you have your eye on Holiday Village, you'll want to be ready to act when the right home comes along.
Holiday Village East has more to choose from. About twice as many homes sold there this past year, so you'll usually have more options when you're looking.
Which One Is Right for You?
Holiday Village may be a great fit if you:

Holiday Village East may be a great fit if you:

- Prefer a slightly newer home
- Want more homes to choose from, plus extras like pickleball courts
The honest answer? The best way to decide is to see them both. I'm always happy to spend an afternoon showing you around, with no pressure at all. Most people just know when they walk in the door.
