Congressional is a newer 55+ community by D.R. Horton with a Moorestown mailing address, and most of its homes were built since 2021. That makes it different from the older 55+ neighborhoods in South Jersey, where homes date from the 1980s to 2000s. I'm Jerry Mac with Keller Williams Realty, and I have spent 23 years helping people buy and sell in Moorestown and nearby towns. Here is what to know about Congressional.
Congressional at a glance
| Location | Moorestown mailing address, off Bridgeboro Street. The builder describes the location as being in Delran Township. |
|---|---|
| Builder | D.R. Horton |
| Built | 2021 to the present (the builder describes a final phase) |
| Homes | About 108 homes, mostly single-family one-story plans |
| Age rule | 55 and older (confirm the occupancy rules in the association documents) |
Which town's taxes and services apply?
Congressional carries a Moorestown mailing address, and the builder describes a Delran Township location. Ask which municipality bills the property taxes and provides services, such as trash and police, for the specific home you are looking at, and confirm it on the actual tax bill.
Amenities
The builder and listings describe a clubhouse, a pool, a fitness center, pickleball courts and walking paths. Because the community is still being completed, ask which amenities are finished, which are planned and who controls the association now.
The homes
Recent homes are mostly one-story plans with open layouts, around 1,750 to 2,700 square feet, in two- to four-bedroom versions. Because the homes are new or nearly new, you may find fewer repairs and updates to take on, but you should still have a home inspection and ask about the builder's warranty and how it transfers to a second owner.
What to ask before you buy
- What the association fee covers and what it will cost over time as the community finishes.
- Whether the builder or the homeowners control the association.
- The rules for pets, guests and renting.
- The warranty status on the home.
Prices and recent sales
Because Congressional is still being finished, sales here mix builder sales and resales, and prices vary a lot by floor plan, lot and year built. For a current look at what is for sale and what similar homes have sold for, call me and I will pull the latest numbers from the MLS.
Nearby
Congressional is near Interstate 295 and the shopping and dining of the Moorestown area. For more, read my Moorestown neighborhoods guide and my 55+ communities guide.
