Living in Cherry Hill, NJ

Cherry Hill is one of South Jersey's most popular places to live, with about 74,500 residents, good schools, easy access to Philadelphia and plenty of shopping and dining. The township was founded as Delaware Township in 1844 and took the name Cherry Hill in 1961, the same year the Cherry Hill Mall opened as the first enclosed shopping mall on the East Coast.

Neighborhoods

Cherry Hill is really a collection of neighborhoods. Barclay and Kingston Estates are known for tree-lined streets and classic mid-century homes. Woodcrest is a favorite with Philadelphia commuters thanks to its PATCO station. Downs Farm offers larger lots, Springdale has many newer and larger homes, and the east side (08003) tends to have more homes built from the 1970s on.

Schools

Cherry Hill Public Schools runs 19 schools, including two main high schools: Cherry Hill High School East and Cherry Hill High School West. School assignments depend on the address, so always confirm them for a specific home.

Getting Around

Commuters can take the PATCO Speedline from Woodcrest station or NJ Transit rail from Cherry Hill station, and I-295, the NJ Turnpike, Route 70 and Route 38 all run through or near town.

Parks and Recreation

Cooper River Park, historic Croft Farm and the Barclay Farmstead are local favorites, and the township has more than 30 parks in all.
